Comments:
General Artemas Ward, a famous revolutionary war general who answered the call to serve his country, may probably be best known for his heroics at the Battle of Bunker Hill, his turning over the siege of Boston to General George Washington and his sage advice to position Henry Knox’s cannons, retrieved remarkably from Ft. Ticonderoga, on Dorchester Heights. Painted on site on a blisteringly hot June morning, I worked quickly in acrylic to capture the brilliant sunlight and tiger lillies dancing in front of the barn built in 1790. This painting is wired for hanging but can stand independently on a shelf, bookcase or windowsill as well. (Acrylic on cavas, 8x8, with depth of 2”)
